Love Notes From Heaven

Remember His Word

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words, and returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

We read in Luke 23:28 of the women that was following him to the cross and weeping for him. Jesus told them not to weep for him but for themselves and their children. They watched as he was crucified, they followed Joseph to the tomb with him, they watched as the stone was rolled over the door way.

These same
women went back home and they did not forget about him, they prepared something. They had gone all the way with the Lord but they still wanted to do all they could for him. Wasn't there something else they could do?  They could prepare spices to take and anoint his body. Yes, they wanted to do this. They rose up early at their first opportunity. It was morning. They went to the tomb. They were the very first to see and witness, he was not there. They were perplexed; they did not know what had happened. Then the angels spoke to them. "Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here he is risen! THEN THEY REMEMBERED HIS WORD. What a joyous morning!

Their sorrow was all gone, the heartache was gone. He had risen. They remembered his word and they believed, then they went and told the disciples the message. He had risen. They told them about the angels, but they did not believe. Then something happened to Peter. Peter just had to know, he went to the tomb himself, to see for himself. He found out the message the women had told him was the truth. The tomb was empty and he wondered about these things. They had not believed the women. Their words they considered to be just as idle tales. What could they know?

Perhaps that is what they thought but they did not believe until they saw for themselves. He arose!  What Joy they all had in their hearts when they saw him and after his ascension, they were daily in the temple praising God. What Joy!

They had watched him taken from their site and again two men in white apparel told them another great thing. There would be another joyous morning, another resurrection Morn to look forward to when Christ would return.

This today is our hope. When we bury our loved ones, this is our hope, we have his promises. We have his word. What a comfort when we remember it. When we are going through trials and heartache and persecutions and our heart is breaking, there is another joyous morning we can look to and then the dark shadows will have to flee. There will be no more darkness only light. JOY! JOY! JOY!

1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if ye believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

WHEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS

What a joyous morning that will be, when my Jesus I shall see!  It doesn't matter whether I have been planted for 100 years in the ground. I love that old song "he didn't throw the clay away" and he never will! It is going home in a glorified estate likened unto the son of God!

That is Joy in the Morning. That is our hope. That is the Word. It is to be a comfort. When you hear someone come across these scriptures on the resurrection, it is for your comfort. It should make us want to shout. Thank God for it. It is our only hope, if we had hope in this life only, we would be of men most miserable. My hope is in his word, the promises it holds. Joy in the morning.

Glory Glory! Won't it be glory? He will bring the souls back with him, they will unite with the body then everything will be complete and we'll be going home. I am going home where the Joy shall never end. I won't remember the night, or the weeping for it will all be joy!

This month we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and we "remember his word" and the promises he has left for us to look forward to. Joy in the morning. I look forward to that morning!

I hope these words have been a comfort to you today!
May God bless you
!
