Welcome to Bambous A/G Church. You've come to the right place. It is so kind of you to stop by for a visit. We are located in the Indian Ocean; a beautiful island named Mauritius.

It should be pretty easy to find your way around this place. Our desire is to see you blessed and prosperous in all areas of your life. We are a spirit filled church and our desire is that you experience the power of the Holy Spirit in a fresh and exciting way so that you will be challenged to seek the face of God for healing and deliverance for you and others.

Bambous Assembly of God is a caring body of believers that loves people, and accepts people without reservation. Our desire is to see God's people walk in His purpose, passion, presence and power in this generation.

BAG CHURCH exists to impact our community and the world with the Gospel of Christ. As a church body we are called to be out in the marketplace, meeting people where they are, and reflecting God's Glory and proclaim the message of hope to them.

New Life in Christ

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  The word all includes me and every person who ever lived.  Because of Adam and Eve's sin in the Garden of Eden, we ALL were born in sin.

Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death."  That means the (penalty) of sin is death (eternal separation from God with hell as our destiny).

But God had a wonderful plan that we wouldn't have to be separated from Him. The next part of that verse says, "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  We can receive that gift and have everlasting life.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, (all humanity) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

God's free gift of eternal life is available to those who believe that Jesus, God's Son, paid their death penalty by dying on the cross for their sins.  If by faith I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, then I too could have eternal life in heaven.

Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."

"I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it was already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with and how I am constrained until it is accomplished!  Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth?  No, I tell you, but rather division; for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three;  they will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against her mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."  Luke 12:49-53

In the history of humanity many revolutions has taken place.  Many have shaken and marked history.  We have the American, communist and the French revolution.  Revolution means war, change, blood flow, overthrow, and change of a Government.  It is not peaceful, quite, and painless.  Jesus Christ is not only the Savior, the Messiah, the Prophet, the Priest, and the King.  He is also the Revolutionary and the Liberator.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.  And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.  And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” – Jesus Christ, Luke 4:18-21

Jesus was without a doubt a revolutionary, but he was not just a revolutionary.   He did not just turn the entire society, but the religious and political world.  His disciples also were revolutionaries; they turned the world upside down with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

HE is the Great Revolutionary.  He came to bring fire and division on earth.  He was the greater warrior and a great leader.  He turned over principalities and the government of Satan, overthrown the power of darkness and marked history. In addition having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.  Colossians 2:15

Jesus is the Lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world.  However he is also the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.  He is a victorious warrior who defeats His enemies with a word.  He is the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, and is over all dominions, principalities and powers.

Jesus demonstrated a different lifestyle and taught others to live their lives in a radically new and revolutionary way...going against the culture of his time. When people believed his message and started living differently, it turned the world upside down; it turns the world upside down.  His messages bring total transformation, healing, deliverance.

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”  In addition, Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see:  the blind receives their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.  And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”  Matthew 11:2-6

The Lord is very clear in his word that he is bringing fire and a sword on the lands.  His word will pierce and cut through to where the marrow meets the bone, His holy fire will burn up all that is of man.  All that is of man will burn up; also, the launderers soap is coming.  We will need more of his glory and power.  Purity and holiness must once again reign in his people.  The fear of the Lord will come.  He will cleanse the temple and have a holy people set apart for him.  The season is now.

True revival centers around the altar.  Revival is a work in the heart, and that only happens at the altar.  Revival really is not only for the lost, but also for the saved.  We must have the nature of the revolution - THE NATURE OF JESUS to change the world.  There must be a distinction.  YOU ARE THE LIGHT AND THE SALT OF THIS WORLD.  The Christian walk is about MAINTENANCE!

The wise maintained their oil to ignite their fire, the foolish did not maintain, and therefore had no fire.  Just like a car cannot go anywhere without gas, the Christian cannot go anywhere without out the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

We must have the character and the sentiment of Jesus, to bring change to our society.  In revolution, there is a CRY - FREEDOM, LIBERTY, and JUSTICE.  We have to bless those who curse you.  Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you.  His teachings are truly revolutionary.  His words call upon us to live a life far different from that which most of us live.  Moreover, I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.  If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other as well.  If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.  Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.  Do to others, as you would have them do to you.  Luke Chapter 6

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  Even 'sinners' love those who love them.  And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you?  Even 'sinners' do that.  And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?  Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full.  But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back, then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.  Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Once the Holy Spirit cleans up the Body of Christ, then he will start drawing the unsaved into the church.  In the book of Judges chapter 6, we see the devil oppressed the children of Israel because of sin.  Sin opens the door to the devil so we must fight.  God chose Gideon typically a leader, a prophet, and an apostle.  He chooses the foolish and the rejected.  Therefore, church arise, stand, and take your position.  Offer a sacrifice, offer yourself, and surrender your life to Jesus.

We need the fire of God in our lives.  The fire of God falls on the altar of our hearts.  So lay your life on the altar, take up your cross daily.  We need a fresh touch from God.  The fire of God burns sin.  The Spirit like fire, melts the heart, burns up the dross, and kindles pious and devout affections in the soul; in which as in the fire on the altar, the spiritual sacrifices are offered up.

The work of revival will be in purifying. The cleansing fire of God must remove the dross from our lives, making us a vessel fit for the master’s use 2nd Tim 2:20-21. The purpose of the fire is to purify and clean, to reveal hidden sin and burn it out and to separate the chaff from the wheat. God answers by fire.  We heard of the burning bush in which God spoke to Moses. The bush was consumed with flames, but didn’t burn up. However God spoke through the flame. John the Baptist proclaimed that Jesus would baptize believers with fire.

If Christianity is to receive rejuvenation, it must be by other means than any now being used.  If the church in the second half of this century is to recover from the injuries she suffered in the first half, there must appear a new type of preacher. The proper, ruler-of-the-synagogue type will never do.  Neither will the priestly type of man who carries out his duties, takes his pay and asks no questions, nor the smooth-talking pastoral type who knows how to make the Christian religion acceptable to everyone. All these have been tried and found wanting.

Another kind of religious leader must arise among us.  He must be of the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and has heard a voice from the Throne.  When he comes (and I pray God there will not be one, but many) he will stand in flat contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization holds dear. He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment of Christendom.  A.W. Tozer

So be a revolutionary, a liberator, like Jesus.  Go with the power of the Spirit and proclaim the good news of the Kingdom.  You have been chosen, empowered, and equipped by God.  Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”  And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit”.  - John 20:21-22.

The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing – Zephaniah 3:1
