And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the
field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the
angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord
shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said
unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of
great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born
this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the
Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the
babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And
suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly
host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
What an awesome
account in the Bible that narrates so beautifully the story of
Gods love for us. Prophesied by the Prophets, proclaimed by
angels, and testified by men. God so loved us that He gave us
His Son to be the Saviour of the World.
I can almost see
Joseph watching Mary as she holds her new born son. Pondering
all the time at the words of the angel which appeared to him
in a dream saying, "Joseph thou son of David, fear not to
take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his
people from their sins."
I've also wondered
how Mary must have felt as she sat looking into the eyes of
her baby, Gods Son.
And
to know that all this which came to pass was prophesied of old
saying, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall
bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us."
Jesus IS the reason
for this Season. This is why we honor and celebrate Christmas
today. It is a time of Joy, and Peace, and Goodwill toward all
men. A very special time of the year set apart from all the
rest where we decorate our homes, we gather together with
family and friends, we sing carols and give gifts. A joyful
time for us, to come and worship the birthday of our King.
"EMMANUEL", God with us!
At this season the world pauses
to remember and to celebrate the birthday of our Saviour,
Emmanuel!. We join in harmony with the redeemed of the earth
as we lift our voices and sing in chorus Salvations sweetest
songs. We light candles and lights to shine through the
darkness and to tell the world that our Light has come, and
the glory of the Lord is risen upon us!
Down through the ages many have
tried to extinguish what the real meaning of Christmas is.
But for those of us whose lives have been transformed by the
power of the Highest, our lights will shine, and our voices
will join together in unison all around the world, as we
celebrate the Birthday of our King!
St
Matthew 2:10-11 When
they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And
when they were come into the house, they saw the young child
with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and
when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him
gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
I want to thank each one of you
who have stepped out in faith and have signed up to write for
this upcoming year. I look forward to working with each one of
you and your ministries. I am believing God for good works to
come forth from your seeds of faith.
It has been our joy once again to
minister Word of Life Ministries on the
Internet, and to be able to share the Good News of the Gospel
to the world. But it has been a very special blessing to have
such wonderful friends as you, our Contributing Members who
have stood with us Hand In Hand to publish the Gospel. We
have been so blessed this past year by the giving of your
gifts through the messages of Gods Word. Jody and I would
like to extend our heart to each one of you once again, who
have been a part of this ministry in some way. May the Peace
and Joy of Jesus Christ keep your hearts and minds as you
celebrate the Birthday of our King
