Are You A Patriot ?                                      Jody Lewis from Ohio

Webster describes a patriot as “one who loves his country”, or “one who is devoted to the welfare of his country”. My Grand-mother instilled within me a sense of patriotism from a very young age. She knew theMy Great-Grandmother, my Grandmother and my two aunts from Romania hardships her parents faced and relinquished to have a better life in this country. She never turned back on who she was, but embraced who she had become.

This new life came at a great price. They would leave their beloved Romania and all they knew, to start afresh in a place unknown. My Great Grandfather attempted twice to come to this country, first alone, and is remembered for writing his wife and telling her that he was so poor and so hungry that he would like to lay on a railroad track and just die.

The stories are many in between, but they did of course make for themselves a new life.  My head and heart is filled with my Grandmothers stories she would tell me, and that I never tired of hearing. To her, they were as real as yesterday. She was only 6 years of age, but she remembered vividly seeing whales swim along side the ship she was in. She said she had a button on her coat with the ships name, and that she threw it to the whales. Yes, they traveled in steerage, but the captain took pity on her mother and sisters, for their father had gone ahead first to put things in order, and allowed them to have a meal in the dining area.

Life went on through the years and memories were established. Memories that would be shared with generations to come. A family bond was established that could never be erased, and most of all, a personal Savior they would come to know.

My mind goes back to an earlier time before the masses of immigrants arrived in this nation. A time when this country was just to be established and God was putting in place men that would help to lay the foundation of a nation built on Godly principals. Men who would defy allegiance to their motherland, and risk all for their independence.

Through sacrifice this new colony would become a great nation, and in its Constitution, the hopes and dreams, and God inspired words would be there for the next generations, and serve as a heritage from our forefathers. Yet again, I go back further in time to the Supreme Sacrifice that was made for us to know ultimate freedom. That was when a loving God willingly gave His only Son that we may not only know salvation, but life everlasting (John 3:16).

This is our heritage as the children of God, and it is written as a beautiful story of love in His Word, the Bible. His promise of the Holy Spirit is given to us in (Acts 2:40) which says, “For the promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call”. As these the last days are upon us, we must rise up as mighty men of faith and valor to protect the Godliness of this nation. We must in prayer intercede for those in leadership, whether in the pulpit or in government. It is our duty to stand in the line of Satan’s attacks with great courage, even as those in battle for this nations well being stood to insure our freedom. Let us not forget what has been established a forehand.

“Remove not the ancient landmarks, which thy fathers have set” (Proverbs 22:28), but let us do our job civically, and spiritually remain victorious in the plan that God has laid before us. Victors in Him!

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death" (Revelations 12:11).

Word of Life Ministries Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God.  We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, was buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God.  We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  We believe in the personal resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost.  We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling we are enabled to live a Godly life, with all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit operational in the Body of Christ today.  We believe in the Christian's hope, the soon coming return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hand In Hand Publication is an Internet Ministry of Faithful Christians joining hands together all around the world, for the sole purpose of promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
