Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Do you want to please God? Do what Noah did, he trusted God
completely. By faith, Noah built a ship in the middle of dry land. He
was informed about
something
he could not see, and acted upon what he was told.
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as
yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the
which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which
is by faith.
Noah had never seen rain. He lived hundreds of miles from
the nearest ocean. Even if he could learn to build a ship, how would he
get it to the water? And how about rounding up all the animals? For 12
years he was laughed at. Yet he trusted God, and outlived everyone who
mocked him.
He obeyed God wholeheartedly. Obedience
does not say, I will pray about it, for delayed obedience is disobedience.
God does not owe you an explanation. Understanding can wait, obedience
cannot. Instant obedience will teach you more about God than a
lifetime of Bible lessons. The fact of the matter is you will never
understand some commands until you first obey them.
Sometimes we try partial obedience: I'll attend church, but I won't
tithe. I'll read my Bible, but I wont forgive the one who hurt me.
Partial obedience is disobedience.
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and
not by faith only.
Why is obedience so important to God? Because his word says,"
If ye love me, keep my commandments". Anything else is just
puppy love.
Psalms 37:23 The steps of a
good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way.
After the flood God blessed Noah and his
sons, and said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the
earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon
every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that
moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your
hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be
meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
God told Noah, it is time to move on with
your life. Do the things I made you for. Make love, have
children, plant fields, eat meals, do good in business. Be the
best you can be. Do you think the only time God is happy with
you is when you're doing spiritual things like reading the Bible,
attending church, praying or sharing your faith? I don't think so.
God enjoys every detail of your life, whether you are working, playing,
resting or eating. He does not miss a thing.
Every human activity except sin, can be done
for God's pleasure if you do it with an attitude of gratitude. You
can wash dishes, service a machine, sell a car, write a computer
program, grow a crop, or raise a family for the glory of God.
Like a proud parent, God enjoys watching us use the talents and
abilities He has given to us.
I believe God made us for a purpose, but I
also feel His pleasure in us. Whatever your talents may be, or
whatever abilities God has given you, don't misuse them, but start using
yours to PLEASE GOD.
I would like to give credit for some of
my thoughts and ideas to "My Word for a day", Bible Study Book.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired,
the only infallible authoritative Word of God. We believe that there
is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten
Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
was crucified, died, was buried, resurrected, ascended into
heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God. We believe
in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus
Christ. We believe in the
personal resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved,
and the eternal punishment of the lost. We believe in the
present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling we are
enabled to live a Godly life, with all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
operational in the Body of Christ today.
We believe in
the Christian's hope, the soon coming return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
