Romans 8:28-39
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who
love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or
Our God is a winner. This is exemplified by the victorious life of the Lord Jesus-Christ who by his powerful ministry, atoning death and glorious resurrection completely defeated Satan, sin, the world and death. In John 16:33 Jesus says: “Take heart I have overcome the world.” The Lord has called us to live a victorious life. The Holy-Spirit our counselor and comforter has been sent to be with us and abide in us for ever. However, very often some children of God are bewildered and feel confused by the adverse circumstances of their life. They don’t understand what is happening to them. Like Job of old they suddenly find themselves taken up in a series of negative events and begin to ask themselves if God is really hearing their prayers. This is because we sometimes don’t understand God’s ways. We must learn how to walk with God. The wisdom of God is infinite He is the Almighty God, the great El Shaddai for whom nothing is impossible. But God doesn’t always do things according to our human logical thinking. He sometimes does things in a way that our physical sense cannot understand. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the Lord. As heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9) We must learn to trust God and keep the vision he has given us even when everything goes bad and apparently points to the opposite direction. God will never leave us nor forsake us. He is faithful. The apparent defeat of God’s children is always the prelude of very great victory. In these days of hardship let us draw near to our precious Lord with a sincere heart in the fullness of faith to give him glory and praise him. We should learn not to question God’s doings. And you will soon be amazed by a turning of the situation that will be even more incredible than your present incomprehensible circumstances. I have seen this happened many times in my life. God has done things that I would have never dreamed possible. ABRAHAM’S FAITH We should always have a
strong faith in God whatever the situation may be. Abraham’s faith is
given to us as an example. What were the elements of his powerful faith?
He didn’t let his senses and feelings to be the guiding force of his life.
He believed in the word of God. We should not be moved by what we feel
but by what we believe. It is written in Romans 4:18 that “against all
hope, Abraham in hope believed.” This means that we should believe even
if our senses are In verses 19-20 it is said that Abraham didn’t waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, even though he had to face the hard reality of the fact that his body was as good as dead. He gave glory to God being strengthened in his faith. He praised God continually. It is very important to worship and glorify God even if we don’t understand what is really happening. This is the mark of great spiritual maturity. Another great Biblical example is Job who worshipped God after he had lost everything. And we know the blessings God poured on him after his trials. You know how God changed completely the situation in the life of queen Esther and Mordecai and how Haman was hanged on the very gallows he built to kill Mordecai. God controls everything all the time. He is in full control of absolutely everything. We should not be moved by our feelings but what we believe. Our convictions should be based on the word of God. Do not be afraid to voice out your vision and conviction. Pray continually. Mouth confession based on God’s word is so important. Things that eyes haven’t seen I Corinthians 2:9-10 tells us that God has prepared for us things that eyes haven’t seen, that ears haven’t heard and that human mind cannot conceive. In that passage the Apostle Paul talks about the infinite wisdom of God who sent his son Jesus-Christ to be crucified for our sins and who was risen from the dead. “He who did not spare His son, but gave him up for us all, how will He not also along with him, graciously give us all things.” In I Corinthians Paul is citing Isaiah 64:1-4. In that passage of Isaiah it is written in verse 3 : “ For when you did awesome things we did not expect” We all know that to receive a miracle we must by faith expect to have one. In this passage God did things that they didn’t expect. What does this mean? God did things that were above human imagination. Things that were humanly inconceivable because they went against all human logics “ Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ-Jesus throughout all generation, for ever and ever!
