Too Blessed to be "Stressed"

by Pastor James Beach, Columbiana Ohio

Rev. James Beach of the First Baptist Church, East Liverpool Ohio

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:       Ephesians 1:3

With the end of summer and prelude of winter comes my favorite season, fall.  While vibrant autumn colors bloom throughout the hillside of the Ohio River, pockets of trees around the area produce spectacular drives to our Church.

I am… Too Blessed To Be Stressed!

Fall also brings to my mind that the holiday season is just around corner.  How many will we have for dinner on Thanksgiving?  How big of a turkey should we buy?  Pies!  Mashed or Sweet Potatoes!  Maybe one of each?  And Christmas Shopping!

I am… Too Stressed To Be Blessed!

That’s the reality of living in God’s UPSIDE-DOWN world, from feeling Blessed to finding ourselves Stressed, but then I am reminded between five and six hundred thousand people are considered "homeless" at any given time - without a permanent, safe, decent, affordable place to live.

Although single men constitute about sixty percent of the homeless population, families constitute about one third of all homeless and are the fastest-growing group of homeless.  That means those families are not stressed over how many are coming to their house for Thanksgiving or what the menu will be.  Maybe they are wondering where they will be sleeping tonight.

Can you say…

I am… Too Blessed To Be Stressed!

The Good news is found in God’s word.  We must seek the refuge of God.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Psalms 46:1

God is a refuge for his children in times of danger and distress.

Physical refuge relieves the frightened.

Spiritual refuge relieves the burdened.

Hurting people need a refuge from their distress.

Thanksgiving and Christmas speak to God’s faithfulness to deliver people in great need.  He provided basic needs for the Plymouth Pilgrims, and He sent Jesus to bring forgiveness and eternal life, what we celebrate at Christmas.

The blessings of America is found in God’s House, and your house, and my house!

Can you say “I am… Too Blessed to Be Stressed”

 The LORD Jesus Christ said,

"With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

"Repent ye, and believe the Gospel" (Mark 1:15),

"Ye must be born again" (John 3:7),

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life" (John 3:16)

Word of Life Ministries, and Hand in Hand Publications Statement of Faith

What we Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, was buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God.

We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We believe in the personal resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling we are enabled to live a Godly life, with all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit operational in the Body of Christ today. We believe in the Christian's hope, the soon coming return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hand In Hand Publication is an Internet Ministry of Faithful Christians joining hands together all around the world, for the sole purpose of promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
