When you were a kid, did, you ever have someone twist your arm to your back and continue to contort your body, egging you on to cry uncle when you’ve had enough? Doesn’t that remind you of what Satan does to us? Being the bully he is, he torments us in our thoughts with worry, burdens and heartache.

But, have you ever stood up to a bully? What happens? He gives up finding it not so fun to harass when you no longer stand in fear and weakness. (Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7.)

So Often we just give in and let the devourer take our joy and confidence in God. We turn over to him, our checkbooks, our children, and our homes. (The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. John 10:10)

How much further, along we’d be spiritually if we’d never give him an inch. As soon as our faith begins to waiver we should be on his tail. We are given the tools to defeat him. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. II Corinthians 10:4.)

As parents we know what it’s like to have concern for our children when they wander off of the straight and narrow. Thoughts of fear and worry plague our minds. (For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7.)

We need to remain confident in how we have raised them to know the truth. (Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 )

Finance can be the biggest worry we can carry on our backs, especially in this economic time. Our God’s system of success is not as the world. God’s promise of prosperity is not achieved in the way the world achieves abundance. His economic system is sure and without error. God’s wealth doesn’t rise and fall as the stock market does.

His system is eternal, and he has promised to rebuke the enemy when we tithe. (And I will rebuke the devourer for you sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:11)

Can you relate how often the peace in you home is destroyed when a phone call comes in with conversations of strife? Or you bring home thoughts of hurtful words that were spoken to you at work or in the grocery store? Or how about that fast track satan tries to keep us on that keeps us from being in God’s Word or in prayer as we should? Those are all his tactics to destroy our peace.

There are so many ways that we can cause a bully to run. First, by speaking, and I mean speaking not just thinking God’s Word. Next, by resisting. How did Jesus resist him? (And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God him only shalt thou serve. Luke 4:8)

Always by prayer. (Pray without ceasing. I Thessalonians 5:17.)

Finally, by praise. It is such a simple thing just to praise him. Our praise can even be in song. I think the greatest tool he uses is when he convinces us that we’re too weak or too down to do anything. Garbage! (Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I John 4:4.)

Life is so short and the days go by so quickly. Let’s not let another moment to be taken from us. Let’s stand in the authority that Christ has given us. We are the redeemed, and we must live like we are.(Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; Psalms 107:2.)

Beside, if you read the end of the Book, we win! (And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11).
