Psalms 103.12
says, As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our
transgressions from us. All the sins of our past are freely forgiven and
remembered no more. We are crucified with Christ. The old life we used to
live is now dead. The life that we now live; we live it by faith in the
Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.
John 1.12 But as many as received Him, to them have He power (or
the privilege) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His
name.
NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
Let us
remember to live according to our new life in the Holy Spirit. Thus, we
won't yield unto the old sinful nature. The old sinful nature loves to do
evil, which is just opposite of what the Holy Spirit wants. The Holy
Spirit gives us desires that are opposite of what the sinful nature wants.
For the wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is eternal life.
When
we follow the desires of our old sinful nature, our lives will produce
sinful results. On the other hand, we yield our lives unto the power and
influence of the Holy Spirit. Our lives will produce the fruits of God's
Spirit.
Romans 8.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God. Those who belong to Christ have nailed the passions and
desires of their sinful nature to the cross and crucified them there. If
we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit's
leading in every part of our lives.
BORN OF THE SPIRIT
There once was a man named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, who came to Christ one night, and said;
"We know that you are sent from God above, because of the miracles you
do", and Jesus replied, "I tell you for certain, that unless one is born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.
No one can enter into the kingdom of God without being born of water and
of the Spirit. That which is born from humans is human life as we know it,
but that which is born from the Spirit is Spiritual life. This is the new
life that comes from above.
When we are born again, or born
of the Spirit, it means that our old life has died, and has passed away.
And we are born again-brand new with Spiritual life from above-born as
Sons of God as though there had been no sin.
PART OF GODS NEW FAMILY
We can stand now in God's presence
because we belong there. We are new creatures created by God in Christ
Jesus with the very life and nature of God in our spirits. We are children
of God, sons of God, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus.
Now if the Spirit of Him, who raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in you,
He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. And this new life that we now
live; we live it by faith, not fashioning ourselves to the former life we
use to live, but being transformed by the renewing of our minds in Christ
Jesus. God is Holy, and He desires us to be Holy.
WHO
ARE WE GOING TO SERVE?
Let us
remember that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit who now lives in
us, given to us by God, so let us honor God in our bodies, for we are now
the redeemed of the Lord, bought with a great price.
Finally, we must make a choice: Whom are we going to serve today? Let us
put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and allow Him to influence our lives so that
we may be conformed to His image, and after His likeness. So others may
see the very nature of God in us.
