It is said that 7 days makes one week.
And 7 days without food makes one weak. But 7 days without
partaking of the Bread of Life will certainly make one very weak
Christian. How can we expect to know what God has to say to us if we
neglect spending time with Him?
We need to be students of the Bible studying it,
meditating on it, and developing it in our lives at all times. It
will change our life. Let us not forget what Gods Word has to say, but let
our hearts keep His commandments with all diligence. For length of days, and long life
and peace, will they add to our life. God tells us that His Word is
a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path. It gives us instructions
on how to live, and keeps us from sinning. Our Fathers word teaches us
knowledge, wisdom, and understanding and it deserves consideration on our
part.
Let us incline our ears that we may give our
attention to it. It is powerful and can accomplish the impossible. It can
save, heal, deliver and set free. Gods Word is true and faithful. What
we read in the Bible is just as much for us today, as it was 2000 years
ago. God has not changed, and neither has His Word. It will accomplish
what He says it will do, without fail!
Romans 10:17 So then faith
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Nature teaches us to sow seeds into the earth, and they will grow
and produce fruit. We are made of the dust of the earth, and Gods Word is
the seed that is sown in our hearts. Once the Word
is sown in our heart, it begins to take root in us and it will transform
our way of thinking.
When we read the Bible we need to listen to what it
is saying, and learn to put it into action. The Bible tells us not to
pattern ourselves after those of this world, but to be changed by the
renewing of our minds in Christ Jesus. To give the more earnest heed to
the things which we read in Gods Holy Word.
When we live in the Word, and allow the Word to
live in us, then we begin to think in accordance to Gods ways. And
something wonderful happens. We no longer think like the
natural man. We begin to think as God
thinks, as spiritual men and women. For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.
We are His offspring! If we truly love Him then we will keep His
commandments.
St John 15:7 If ye
abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it
shall be done unto you.
So let us put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow His Word to influence our
lives, so that we may conform to His image and likeness. That others
may see the very nature of God in us. Love!
Hand in Hand Publications
for August 2007
I would like to invite you to visit our Hand in
Hand Publication page this month titled, "Submissive to my Fathers Will".
I am standing in as guest writer for this month and the Holy Spirit has
laid this message upon my heart. I believe that there are areas in all our
lives where we tend to hold onto our own will. But God knows what is best
for us, He sees the inward battles that we war against. He sees what
we are holding onto. This message describes a "little lesson" God
gave to Corrie ten Boom when she was
just a little girl.
Being submissive to our Heavenly
Fathers will does not always come easy. Especially when it's something we do not
want to do. How often do we tighten our fingers in a "knuckle-whitening" grip,
and dig our heels and refuse to do, or to go where our Father is asking us to
go? There are times that we know where God is leading, and
what He is asking of us, and yet because we are fearful, we refuse to submit. We
tell ourselves that it's okay just to stay in this place and we make every
excuse not to obey.
