Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible

This follows the verse which tells of Mary's cousin Elizabeth being barren in her old age. Not so unlike my own mother whom after 13 years of marriage was unable to conceive.  Just at the point that my parents were to begin the process of adoption, my praying great-grandmother was at our church camp having everyone agree in prayer that my mother would become pregnant.  Within a month she had, and here I am fifty years later.

Word of Life Ministry

It is my prayer for you in this New Year 2008, that the very divine nature of Jesus Christ, which is the express image of God dwell richly in you, abounding in all things, and supplying your every need.

May you have a constant mindset that it is Christ in you, leading you from treasure to treasure, from grace to grace, victory to victory, and from glory unto glory, by the Spirit of the Lord.

May your life be more and more illuminated in this New Year, by the Christ that dwells within.

Being reminded of this story many times in my life, I have always believed that God could do anything.  He has proven this over and over again in my life.  Many times my faith has wavered, but He has never failed to come through.  The more He does, the easier it is to trust Him.  I am often reminded of these words of the loved hymn,

"Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey".

In 2007, God has truly opened doors which seemed impossible to open. It will be a year in February that I applied for a new job. A job that I didn't know I would really need after I recently received news that they were closing the doors to my current job.

When I first heard about this in November, I called the director of Human Resources at the job I had applied for, passed the tests, and had an interviews with, to see if their were any positions opening up.  She told me she was 99 % sure there would be no openings before the first of the year.

When I heard 99%, I knew it was time for God to prove himself.  He is God of the 1%.  I was told that if a position were to open, I would get the call asking if I was still interested.  Praise the Lord, that call came in over a week ago.

Another door we have been asking and waiting for the Lord to open for us, is for a place to worship.  In 1996 my mother had passed away, and it wasn't long after this that God removed us from the ministry we were in.  All these years, after many hurts, many feelings of mistrust, and just not knowing where we were to be, God has opened that door.

His timing is quite a bit different from my own as I am reminded of His ways in Isaiah 55:8-13

It comes down to this, we have two choices.  We can choose to believe or choose not to believe.  To trust or not to trust.  In the face of adversity, I choose to stand, for in standing there is no greater joy, no greater victory.

Hand in Hand Publications January 2008

This month it is my joy to welcome as our Guest Writer for Hand in Hand Publications, my husband, James Lewis of "Word of Life Ministries".  James was led of the Lord to begin this online ministry in 2002.

It has been his desire to bring a word of encouragement to the world through his and other's words. What a joy it has been to reach out to the world in these last days, and for the wonderful friends we have made the world over.

My prayer is that you are blessed by the word of this months topic, "Holy Spirit Flow Through Me". As James is an encouragement to me daily, may the words that the Lord has laid on his heart lift and edify you.

I invite you to take a moment and visit James's page by clicking on the Hand in Hand Publication link below.
