Hand In Hand Proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel to all the world
June 1st 2006 Newsletter
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit
within me.
Greetings to all our family, friends, and Internet Ministries around the world. I pray this letter finds you in good health, and in the joy of the Lord.
Once again it is my privilege to be able to share a few moments with you
the "Good News" of Jesus Christ. In our every day
life, we tend to hold on to many things Year after year we save, keep, and
eventually we accumulate so many things that we really don't know what to do
with them. Some of them are really important to us; they hold precious
memories of days gone by, of parents, and grandparents, and of child hood
memories. To part with them is out of the question; these we want to keep
and hand down from generation to generation to be enjoyed.
How about those items that we save because we just don't know what to do
with them? So we put them in
boxes and bags and pile them away to another day, maybe then we will get
around to doing something with them. But year upon year begins to add up and we keep on
storing them away, some put them in the attic where they will be out of the
way but kept for later on. Yet others put these things behind closed doors,
in a room behind lock and key. There they will be safe for no one else to
look at except for those days when you desire to go down memory lane. And
then there are those that put these things down in the
basement in boxes, and bags because there just is not any room any where
else to put them, and by the way, we really don't know what to do
with them if we did.
Much of what is saved, and gathered through the years is really plain trash,
and needs to be discarded and thrown away.
Spring Cleaning: A time usually in the spring, when we go throughout our home, and give it a
thorough cleaning. A time to get rid of all the rubbish that has
accumulated throughout the
years, the clothes that we have
out-grown, magazines that have been collected and
boxed away, broken tools, old windows, and rusted bicycles that have sat
idle for many years. We move on from
one place of residence to another place, experiencing new experiences and
grasping on to new things, to be used and enjoyed for the moment. But while
we hold on to so many things in this life, there comes a time to take stock
at what we are keeping and holding onto.
Psalms 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
There comes a time in each one of our lives, when we need to take a close look at our heart. To see what clutter has accumulated there, what things we have stored away in the attics of our mind and the basements of our hearts. For often times we visit these places and reminisce those times that have brought not only joy, but also fears and sorrows. We need to have days of spring cleaning in our hearts. Days when we take inventory of all the things that have piled up in our life.
A time of “Spring Cleaning” and getting rid of all the rubbish that we have held onto over the years. Without even realizing it, we accumulate so much "junk" in our lives that it begins to weigh us down. God's word says, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you". Our Lords desire is that we get rid of all the clutter of yesteryear, all the hurts, the bitterness, the fears and worries, the habits and the sins that bog down our spirits and clutter our minds that we may have a clean house once again where the Spirit of the Lord abides!
I would like to take this time to welcome back Delores Adams of Heart 2
Heart Beat, as this months guest writer for Hand In Hand Ministries. Delores
has a very special gift from God as she pens Gods Words from her own heart.
I am very glad to be able to share with you this month's message on FATHERS.
Delores shares with us the instructions and responsibilities that God has given
to us Dads to our children, and how our actions of love will reveal Gods Love to
them as they follow in our footsteps.
This page is now uploaded to the Internet and you can read more on this month's timely message by visiting http://www.wordoflifeministry.us/June2006.html I would also like to invite you to stop by and visit Delores's website, by clicking on her banner above. I know she would love to have you visit her place on the web. Let her know you were there!
I want to mention and say how much of a blessing these monthly
publications
have been to my wife and I, and so many others who have written in. These
pages are also going out in the postal mail, and blessing those who do not have
computers with the "Good News" of Jesus Christ. I want to say Thank You to
each of you who have pledged and contributed!
I also want to thank once again my Mother, Marcella Lewis for her financial support. making the mailing of our monthly Newsletters possible. Because of your love gifts, it is now possible for these messages to go into homes all around the world. And I know I speak for all our Contributing Members saying "Thanks". I feel as you too are a Contributing Member, that your name should be included with the rest, so I am now placing your name along with all the others. Welcome!
We were so blessed by the powerful message last month written by Cornelia Potgieter of "Bethesda House of Grace", and I want to thank you Cornelia, for your inspiring message taken from the Old Testament, about the very important principals of staying in the Word of God! May this message continue with us all our days that we may stay out of that dry and discouraging place called REPHIDIM. May the Lords Blessing be with you and Abraham as you minister Gods Word in your corner of the world.
Welcome!
From time to time I like to introduce you to some of our new contributing members and to let you hear a little bit from them. Where they are from, who they are, etc. So at this time I would like to officially introduce to you, and welcome to Hand In Hand Ministries, Fred Roark from Oklahoma. Fred is the son of Delores Adams and has a wonderful website ministry that he shares with his Mother called, "Theres Good News" filled with inspirational writings that will certainly bless and feed your soul. He too, has this very special quality and gift from God revealed through his writings.
Fred writes.... I presently live in Broken Arrow, Tulsa area, Oklahoma. My family and I moved here in the summer of 1995. I was accepted into Rhema Bible Training Center and school was to begin in August 1995. I was excited and couldn’t wait until the first day of school to begin. It was now August and although I had waited for this long awaited time to come the finances to pay the tuition had not showed up. I had been faithful in paying my tithe, giving in offerings, and now I waited wondering how it would be paid. I had no money but I did go to orientation that day not knowing whether I would be able to attend the 1995-96 school year.
After a long morning of hearing the itinerary watching and waiting, I left knowing that I was going to wait for my time. My family and I adjusted to our new home and new town joined the church at Victory Christian Center and settled in for the endurance of our stay. I did attend the following two years at Rhema Bible Training Center and graduated with my class in 1998.
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
As you journey through this land may you find strength and encouragement in Gods Word. And may the fellowship of His Spirit, and the Joy of His countenance shine brightly upon you, as you walk in tune with the Master.
