And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho,
and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall
compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once.
Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the
ark seven trumpets of rams horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the
city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it
shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the rams horn,
and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with
a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the
people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
We are living in times when we face battles and
spiritual struggles in our lives. The Bible tells us that we wrestle
not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
in high places.
We may not find ourselves marching around fortified
walls of brick and stone, but we are constantly faced with similar walls
that seem impossible to get beyond. They come to hinder us, and to
discourage us and to stop us from gaining access into the blessings of the
Lord. And we need to know how to fight these battles. We need
to know that God is able to give US the Victory. And we need to know
how to overcome those walls of Jericho that we face in our life today.
Now I think we have become so use to walking around
and feeling discouraged and defeated, that we have forgotten how to
rejoice in the Lord.
Psalms 47:1 Clap your hands, all ye
people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. When was the last
time we got so excited in the Lord, that we began to shout to the Lord. We go to
football games, and baseball games,
and when our team scores we stand up and shout for our team. We need
to know that God is with us today, and we are on the winning team. It's only right that Gods people stand up for Him, and rejoice in the
things that He is doing today.
Earlier in verse 1 God had spoke to Joshua and told him that He
had already delivered Jericho into his hands. The king, and all the
mighty men. Before they even went forth into battle, God had given
them the assurance of Victory. Gods Word is just as good today as it was in
Joshua's day, and it is all the assurance that we need for
Victory in our life. We are more than conquerors through him that
loved us.
You may find yourself facing one of the toughest
battles that you have ever had to fight. Or you may already be in
the middle of a great conflict in your life where you feel as though there
is no hope. At times we may feel defeated and discouraged, things
may even look impossible.
What did satan say to Job right in the middle of one
of his biggest battles he ever had to face?
"Why don't you curse God and die" Has he ever come against your mind
with doubts and fears? Telling you that no one loves you, nobody cares about you, your
going to loose everything, your not qualified to do that job, nothings going to ever change. Why don't
you just give up and die.
Now let me tell you, when those thoughts come they
are real. And this is not the time to give in to those
feelings. The Bible tells us to put on the whole armor of God that
we may be able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. We need to recognize where those thoughts are coming
from. and we need
to face those walls that are in front of us with confidence that God is
with us. That He will give us the Victory over those things that we
battle in our
life.
I want you to know that what ever it is you may be
facing today, God has a plan that will tear down those walls that
have come against you. I believe it is God's plan for us to take
possession of all He has promised us in His Word today. Paul the apostle
tells us to have great confidence in the Lord, and in His ability to do
those things that He says He would do.
For its not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit
sayeth the Lord. The weapons of our warfare are not weak, but mighty
to the pulling down of strongholds.

and has served the Lord faithfully now for many years. She writes
and manages a couple of websites that I am pleased to share with all of
you.
Heart

There's
Good News.
I hope you take some time to visit her home on the web, and let her know

websites that you can fill out and leave your comments.
This month Delores shares with us a very special
message entitled, "Thank God for Lice". Taken from a real
life lesson Corrie and Betsy Ten Boom learned while living in the Nazi
prison camp.
Delores writes.....Corrie had a hard time trying to be thankful for lice, until she realized that
there really was a blessing in disguise in it. The women guards and
officers knew of the infestation of lice in their cells, so they kept their
distance to avoid becoming infested themselves.
