He tells them that he is sleeping, and he must go to awake him out of his sleep, but because they did not understand what he had meant, he later told them that Lazarus was dead.

By the time that Jesus came into Bethany, about two miles outside of Jerusalem, he found out that Lazarus had already been laid in the grave for four days.  Many of the Jewish people gathered around Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus to comfort them concerning their brother.  But as soon as Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him.

She said, Lord, if you would of only been here, my brother would not of died!  She had seen some of the miracles He had done.  How he healed the lame man, and made the blind man see.  She knew even now that it was only Jesus that could do something about this situation.

Jesus told Martha, “Your brother will live again”,  For I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Do you believe this?

The Scripture tells that Lazarus body was placed in a cave that was sealed with a stone, but Jesus commanded the stone to be removed away. Martha said, Lord by this time his body had begun to decay, he has been dead for four days!

After Jesus had prayed unto the Father, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth”.  And Lazarus, who was dead, came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound with a napkin. Jesus said unto those who stood nearby, “Loose him, and let him go”.

Today, the same love that Christ showed to Mary and Martha for their brother Lazarus by raising him up from the dead, is the very same love wherewith Christ loves us!  He did not come condemning us for our wrong doings, but He came seeking us out, that He might give unto us the very life of Christ, and to have it more abundantly.

Today Christ is still going forth to “awaken” those out of their sleep, even as he did with Lazarus. For the Bible states that God is not willing that any should be lost, but that all would come to eternal life. His love is reaching out to you, for it is the power of God unto salvation that brings back to life that which sin has destroyed.

Jesus came to set the captive free and just as He called Lazarus out of the tomb He is calling you today!  He is saying unto you “Come Forth”.  For sin and death has bound you long enough. He has come to set you free!

Free from the chains that has held you captive. Free from the guilt and shame of your past. Free from the torment of fears and defeats. My friend, Jesus is here today. Jesus loves you and He cares for you, even as He loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus.

Christ is our Champion, and He went forth that day against Satan to conquer sin and death and to give back life, not only to Lazarus, but for all who would come to Christ.

The Spirit of the Lord is saying, “Loose him and let him go”. He is not here to condemn you for your past, but He has come to say you are forgiven, and those things, which you have done in your past, will be remembered no more. For His shed blood on Calvary’s cross now settles those old accounts.

God’s most precious gift unto this world is His Only Begotten Son. And by Him, and through Him we are saved.

Romans 10: 9-10 states that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Hand in Hand Publications October 2007

I am very pleased to welcome back this month to Hand in Hand Publications, our dear friend and Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman, from Canada. Sister Trudy is a Licensed Clinical Christian Therapist, a Certified Christian Counselor, an ordained Minister and a published Author. She is serving the Lord with dedication and determination, for the past 46 years. Her life and her ministry is a sure proof of God's unfailing power.  This months message is entitled, "Dialogue with God,  Hearing His voice and letting your voice be heard".  When we think of God we often think that what God says is what goes, but Sister Trudy gives many scriptures verses to show us that God at times will reason with us, and often is willing to change His plans when dealing with us. He has even asked us in His Word to come
and let us reason together.

Here is an excerpt from Sis Trudy's message....So the Lord said: "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes." Abraham dares even to ask the Lord for more.....Suppose there were five less than fifty righteous...The Lord said: If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.  Abraham went on and on, till ten righteous.  The Lord said: I will not destroy it for the sake of ten. As we all know, there were not even ten righteous, so Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed.  This story tells us that God is willing to change His plans.

Please take time to stop by and visit Sis Trudy's message this month, I know
if you do you will be blessed.  You can read more on this message by clicking on this link....
